Notes Population added in WPE3. Recent genetic studies (Rhymer et al. 2001, Glenn et al. 2002, Peterson et al. 2003) have concluded that rowani is indistinguishable from tabida and thus, that there are only 2 subspecies in the Mid-Continent Population of Sandhill Cranes: canadensis and tabida (Hands, H. in litt. July 2005.).
