Notes

  • S22 - Only 4 individuals returned to Iran in 2003-04.
  • S5901 - Only one bird returned to Iran in October 2011. Rusanov et al. (2012) reported 15 birds in Volga Delta in September 2011. Wintering grounds of other birds remain unknown.
  • T3979 - After a steady decline, small groups continue to be observed and the rate of decline appears to have decreased. Trend quality good in past, now poor.
  • S24 - 900. Only one bird returned to Iran in October 2010.
  • S8597 - Only 1 individual was located in Iran in 2011/2012.
  • T6681 - Number of observed birds declined from 6 to 1 at its wintering ground in IR.
  • S9306 - One individual stayed in Iran in 2018/19 (Vuosalo 2020). However, 2-5 individuals reported from the breeding grounds even in 2016 and 2017 (Sorokin and Shilina, 2018). 2 individuals were observed also on spring migration in Kazakhstan in 2017 (Bragin and Timoshenko, 2018), which indicates the existence of another, yet unknown, wintering area (Ilyashenko, 2016).
